Kevin Anderton received his Bachelor’s in Theatre from Tennessee State University. Whilst studying for his undergraduate degree, he had the opportunity to studying acting at Oxford School of Drama. After graduation, he and his wife moved to California where he taught high school drama for five years. Later, he returned to England where he obtained his Master of Fine Arts in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter. In addition to his studies, he has worked in different capacities with the American Negro Playwright Theatre Company, the Globe, the Shakespeare Institute and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Mr. Anderton studied directing, acting and other scholarly avenues under the tutelage of Francis Imbuga, one of the foremost African playwrights as well as the preeminent Brechtian and Shakespearean scholar, editor and author, Peter Thomson. He holds professional membership with the Society of American Fight Directors, British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat and the Medieval & Renaissance Drama Society. His adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It has toured both America and England. Recently, Mr. Anderton directed two virtual productions, The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time and A Midsummer Night's Dream, with professional actors from around the world. This is his third year at South Cobb High School.
